In partnership with the Denver Jazz Fest, Nocturne presents Colorado keyboard legend Eric Gunnison and his world class trio. The celebrated pianist, composer, educator and newly-inducted member of the Colorado Music Hall of Fame will perform a blend of American Songbook classics and original music. Eric will be joined by the truly marvelous team of Seth Lewis (bass) and Paul Romaine (drums).

Gunnison was raised in Buffalo, NY and attended Berklee College of Music in Boston, graduating with a BA in music composition in 1979. Eric lives in Denver, where he has been a mainstay on the music scene for decades. He also performs the world over, having appeared with jazz greats including Ron Miles, Dizzy Gillespie, James Moody, Phil Woods, Bobby Shew, Chris Potter, Christian McBride and Eddie Gomez to name a few. Notably, Eric has served as a pianist and music director to the great jazz vocalist Carmen McRae.

Since 1991, Gunnison has been pianist, composer and arranger for the Denver supergroup Convergence. He recently retired from a long-held position at The University of Denver’s Lamont School Of Music and is now exclusively a performer.
