“One of Denver’s ten best jazz musicians.”Westword

Annie Booth is a versatile and award-winning composer, arranger and jazz pianist. She has released seven albums in traditional piano trio to large chamber jazz ensemble settings. Here, There and Everywhere, Annie’s 2024 release, is a collection of imaginative covers of Beatles favorites with the long-standing Annie Booth Trio. According to Textura, her playing and arranging on this record is “distinguished by intuitive command and imagination.”

Ms. Booth has received international recognition for her work with awards and grants from the likes of Chamber Music America, ASCAP, the International Society of Jazz Arrangers & Composers (ISJAC), the International Alliance for Women in Music (IAWM), the Jazz Education Network (JEN), DownBeat Magazine and many others. Annie’s writing spans small groups to large jazz ensembles, as well as chamber and symphonic compositions. She has been commissioned to write original works for institutions including the University of New Hampshire, the Reno Jazz Festival (UNR), Stratus Chamber Orchestra, the University of North Florida, the Colorado Jazz Repertory Orchestra (CJRO) and more.

Booth is also a respected jazz educator, on faculty in the Jazz and Commercial Music Program at the University of Denver’s Lamont School of Music. For 10 years she has worked with students in the Colorado Conservatory for the Jazz Arts — a program of which she herself is an alumna — directing combos, teaching summer camps, and leading the SheBop: Young Women in Jazz workshop. In 2023 she launched Brava Jazz Publishing, the only outlet of its kind, creating a platform for women composers and arrangers to have their music published and widely distributed.
