Kick off the afternoon with the powerhouse energy of the Denver School of the Arts’ premier jazz ensemble. Nationally recognized and frequent finalists at the Essentially Ellington competition, these young virtuosos deliver sophisticated arrangements and tight improvisations with a professional polish that belies their age.
1:30 – 2:30 p.m. Dzirae Gold
Known as “Denver’s Golden Girl,” Dzirae Gold has a voice as smooth as liquid gold, seamlessly blending classic jazz sensibility with modern soul and pop-funk. Backed by a stellar band, her performance offers a high-energy, sultry atmosphere that celebrates the rich history of Black music through a contemporary lens.
3:00 – 4:00 p.m. The End All Plays the Music of Weather Report

Close out the night with a deep dive into the groove-heavy world of Weather Report. This exciting, young ensemble pays tribute to the legendary fusion pioneers Joe Zawinul and Wayne Shorter, recreating the complex textures, atmospheric synthesizers, and driving R&B pulses that defined the 1970s fusion era.
